St. Philip's PTAThe St. Philip’s PTA is a collaboration of parents and teachers working together to provide the best learning atmosphere for our children. All school families are members of the PTA as the annual dues are included in the yearly registration fee. The monthly meetings are either on educational topics or are social events. The educational meetings are a casual and social forum for sharing ideas and information regarding timely and classic subject matters. In order to encourage the many young families to attend, childcare if offered at these meetings. Guest speakers on many important subjects come and present in a warm, casual setting. Parents receive one general volunteer hour for every meeting they attend. The social events vary from Christmas Caroling to fundraising nights at local restaurants. The PTA supports the teachers financially by funding an enrichment stipend for each teacher to use in their classroom. The PTA shows gratitude for the dedication of the teachers with the annual Teacher Appreciation Lunch, where the teachers are treated to lunch at a local restaurant, white PTA parents do yard duty and supervise the children. Fellowship (coffee, juice and treats) and socialization for most of the important parish events is funded by the PTA. This includes but is not limited to: 1st Day of School coffee, Back-to-School Night, Candle lighting Mass, May Crowning, Kindergarten and School Open House. The PTA provides a small recognition gift for the 2nd graders receiving the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, and, 8th graders receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.
