St. Philip Athletics

Bringing out the best in every student-athlete!

The Saint Philip School Athletic Program is designed to help our kids have fun and learn about life through sports. Volunteer coaches encourage our students to be respectful at all times, humble when they win, and gracious when they lose.

Mission

We always strive to provide a safe, fun environment for our student-athletes. Our coaches lead by example, practicing true sportsmanship and remembering that the feelings and welfare of our players are far more important than the outcome of any game. We strive to develop strong playing skills and to promote a friendly, respectful relationship among the student-athletes, coaches, referees, and parents.

Sports We Offer

We offer sports for girls and boys from K-8, including:

  • Soccer

  • Volleyball

  • Basketball

  • Baseball

  • Track & field

  • Cross country

Volunteering

Our entire sports program is run by volunteers, from leading the Athletics Council, to coaching, to fundraising.

Athletics Council

Our Athletics Council comprises volunteers in lead roles, including:

  • Athletic Directors (ADs)

  • Sports Leads* (Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Soccer)

  • Equipment & Uniform Manager

  • Treasurer & Fundraising

  • Athletics Council Lunch Fundraiser Lead

*Primary liaison to CYO and Athletic Directors for a given sport.

Each lead needs help from volunteers to be successful.

Email bruins@saintphilipschool.org if you can help!

Coaching

Our coaches focus on promoting learning, teamwork, respect, and fun. They...

  • Teach the fundamentals of the sport.

  • Pass background checks, including CYO fingerprinting, and complete training (details here).

  • Represent St. Philip School at games, along with players, and parents.

  • Comply with CYO rules requiring minimum playing time for each registered player.
